Remember all the people in your life who helped guide you on your road to success. Thank them sincerely and often.

What is an Influencer? An influencer is something or someone who influences someone. When I think of the people who influenced me the most I think of my mom.

Mother’s Day was yesterday, and most people celebrate their mothers, grandmothers, stepmothers, or the person that’s like a mother to them. We all share some traits with our parents. Maybe we have their personality, attitude, or morals. Most of our decisions are from watching our parents fail or succeed then everything else is from our life experiences.

Our parents weren’t perfect they are just like us. They make decisions based on what they were taught as a child and what they learned as an adult. Sometimes it ends well and sometimes it doesn’t. As they were making decisions we were watching.

My mom was a single parent so a lot of things I learned were from her. Some qualities I used and some I have not. I think my humbleness and good attitude is partially because of her. My mom always had and still has a good attitude about life. She wasn’t the type to complain, the atmosphere at home was always positive.

She was perfect in my eyes. Her attitude was so genuine. She did things out of the kindness of her heart without wanting anything in return. I think this is the reason why I enjoy helping people and why I have a positive attitude about life.

So, when I think about who shaped me, I think of her. She was my main Influencer. I don’t try to be like her because I am my own person and I must make my own decisions in life but it’s good to know I have her when I need her.

In life rather it’s a parent, friend, or stranger it’s good to have someone in your life that you can learn from. I have multiple people who I lean on for knowledge. People such as mentors, managers, family, my spouse, these people help me grow. They have seen me at my worst and best. When I talk to them, they listen, and they are understanding.

So, if you don’t have a mom in your life, I think it’s important to have someone in your life who you can talk to whenever you need a word of reason. Some people may know what we don’t know, and we may know what they don’t know. We are here in this world to help each other. It’s not a competition. There’s enough success to go around. We all can take part in it. You must live a life selflessly, willing to share knowledge, and help others grow.

You don’t have to be a writer or a blogger to give others advice. Whatever you are passionate about or enjoy, share it with others. It’s easy sharing knowledge. I like to hear stories about people passions and what they enjoy doing because it shows me, we are all unique individuals. It also keeps me motivated to do what I enjoy. When you see others enjoying their craft you want to have that same feeling.

When I graduated last Thursday, I wrote the teachers in my life that inspired me to go after my passion. I had switch degrees multiple times until I realized what I was passionate about. Seeing others do what they love regardless of the pay made me rethink why I was in college. I was tired of doing things to make the outsiders happy I knew my happiness will only sufficed if I did what I enjoyed.

Therefore, it’s important to be around others, positive people, enjoying life. People who enjoy what they do, not people who complain about their career. This is what’s going to motivate us to go after what we enjoy.

I am who I am because of the people around me. I choose to include people in life who will impact my life in a positive way, and I encourage others to do the same. Not everyone deserves a seat at our table unless they are willing to bring a dish to share. We must stop allowing people to take from us until the table is emptied and we’re left hungry.

So, I want to ask you today to evaluate who is eating at your table. Are they taking more from you then they are bringing? Are they helping you grow? What types of people are you allowing in your life? If you want to stay motivated and successfully go after your dreams, it’s going to start with evaluating your surroundings.

“Evaluate the people in your life; then promote, demote, or terminate. You're the CEO of your life.”
