Back to School

20.08.2018

Summer break is officially over for me. I enjoyed my break from school. I had a whole month off. I took a couple trips, reads some books, visited some friends, and now I'm ready to go back to school. Today is the first day of my last semester of college. I have been waiting for this day since I registered for college. I'm excited that this is my last semester but I'm also nervous. School has been tough, stressful, and tiresome. Some days I didn't have time for nothing but school work. Now that I have figured out how to balanced my family, work, school life, school is almost over. When I started college it felt like every semester went by slow but now that it's almost over I want it to slow down. That's how life is sometimes. We often want everything to be over and we forget to enjoy the moment.

As a child I wanted to grow up quick. I was ready to become an adult. I was ready to drive, have a job, and buy a house. I was ready to get my adult life started. I didn't realized how hard life was until I became an adult. Our parents make it look easy but it's not. Life is best when it is enjoyed at every step of the way. It doesn't matter if you are a child that is ready to grow up, a college student ready to graduate, or a person that is ready to get married. When we are constantly focused on the future we can't appreciate where we are in life. Theres nothing wrong with planning your future but there is something wrong with not enjoying the present time.

When our circumstances are bad it often causes us to forget about the present time. Causing us to worry, stress, and get anxiety about our future. We often make excuses for reasons why we are not enjoying the present time. I use to make them myself. I would complain about not having time to do anything. I would always say maybe in the future I will have more time but I didn't realized that I couldn't wait till the future to enjoy my life. When I started examining my schedule I realized that I had more time than I thought I had. So remember today life is a journey and you were made to enjoy each moment. Don't be do focused on your future that you forget to enjoy the present.

“If you want to be happy, do not dwell in the past, do not worry about the future, focus on living fully in the present.”
