Let’s be Merry

25.12.2017

It’s that time of the year again when people are “merry”. This is the time of the year when people are celebrating Christ, and Christmas at the same time. People are happier, more giving, and polite during this season. This is the only time of the year when people treat people like people. As I reflect on Christmas, and Merry, I think about my character. Why do we as people, wait till Christmas to be merry, when we can make everyday feel like Christmas. I want my purpose to be so much more than a season, or a day. I want to live my life merry, every day. If we as people can come together for a holiday, then we should be able to come together, everyday. Christmas have a way of making you forget about your troubles, by focusing on the meaning of the season. I didn’t want to forget about my troubles during Christmas, I wanted to forget about them everyday. I want my joy to spread to everyone that comes in contact with me, old, young, rich, or poor. I want to treat people like people because everyone needs love everyday. I want to shower the unfortunate with gifts, throughout the year. I want my life to exhibit what Christmas is about. I believe it’s a very intimate time between you, and your love ones. The time when you look around, and are thankful for who you have, and what you have. I decided I didn’t want to be wrapped in the artificial version of Christmas, only celebrated once a year, exchanging gifts, spreading all your money. I wanted to create my own Christmas, spreading merry throughout the year. On this Christmas morning when you wake up, and open your gifts, and eat with your family, it only last a minute. The next day, all the decorations are taken down, the stores are preparing for the next holiday, and people are back to normal, like Christmas never happened. As you celebrate today remember Christmas doesn’t have to be celebrated once a year, you can celebrate Christmas by spreading love, joy, and good cheer to everyone you come in contact with. Let your spirit shine so bright, that the sun would envy you.
