Life is a Lesson

10.10.2017

As I gotten older, I realized the meaning of life. I didn’t always know, but I now realize, life is about learning lessons. As an adult, life hasn’t always been sunshine, and rainbows, but I always made the best, with what I had. I have made plenty mistakes, and I’m sure that I will make more, but it’s not about how many mistakes you make, it’s how many lessons you learned from your mistakes. Everything I been through, and struggle with, I have always been able to learn from it. I remember when I got my first car, I bought it for only eight hundred dollars, it was a 1988 Chevy Cutlass, though it was old, I could finally drive myself places, I needed to go. I knew one day I wouldn’t have a used car, but I was happy with what I had. I bought another used vehicle after my Chevy, it was a 2006 Impala, one day it broke down on me, and I had to walk to work.

The first time I walked to work, I was upset. I lived at least five miles from my job, and I had to leave early, so I wouldn’t be late. I told myself, that even though I was walking, I knew that it was only temporary. As days went by, the more I walked, it got easier. I learned that the things that was meant to break me, only made me stronger. I didn’t allow it to break me, and yes it was hard, but I knew I couldn’t give up. What I learned from walking to work, is that in life you are going to have some bumpy roads, and you might struggle while you’re going down that road, but you will make it through anything, if you keep going. Life is between you and life. Your mom, dad, sister, brother, husband, or whoever you love, is not responsible for you. I was responsible for myself, and if you develop that mindset, you will be able to face anything. It’s not about being selfish, it’s about taking ownership for you, and your responsibilities. People become so bitter with other human beings because of what life throws at them. You must push through, and learn how to take what life throws at you, and make it work.

When you own up to your own problems, and fix them, you’ll mature increasingly, each day. If you’re always blaming everyone else for your problems, you’ll never learn. I couldn’t blame anyone for my problems. I couldn’t get mad at those who didn’t help me. I was responsible for me. Learning lessons in life has made me a better person. I don’t get mad at my situations, I just try to figure out how can I fix it, and how can I avoid not being put in this situation again. We all have choices, we can blame people for what happens to us. We can get upset when no one wants to bail us out, or we can take the problem, and find a solution. There are going to be some tough days, but if you can learn something from the things you experience in life, then you’ll be a stronger person. Its not about the mistakes, its about the lessons you learned after the mistake. If you’re not learning lessons, you’re not living. Start living today.

Life Tips

·         Stop playing the blame game. Stop blaming your situation on everyone else. Learn how to take ownership for your own problems because you will never learn by blaming others.

·         Stop running away from your problems. Learn to face your problems head on. You can’t go through life trying to get around your problems, no matter how big or small, you must fix the problem before you can move on with your life. You can live your life skating around your problems, or you can face them head on.

·         Stop getting upset when your love ones don’t bail you out. If people keep bailing you out of your problems, you’ll never learn how to solve them on your own.

·         Life is hard, but if you understand, you are responsible for you, then you will understand life lessons. Life isn’t easy, but learning from your mistakes, will make it a whole lot easier.

Life is not easy. We all have problems-even tragedies-to deal with, and luck has nothing to do with it. Bad luck is only the superstitious excuse for those who don't have the wit to deal with the problems of life. -Joan Lowery Nixon
