It's Okay to Fail

“Don’t let the fear of the time it will take you to accomplish something stand in the way of your doing it. The time will pass anyway; we might just as well put that passing time to the best possible use.”

-Earl Nightingale

Most people who fail refuse to get back up again. Failures have a way of making people feel weak. The feeling that you can’t do it anymore because it didn’t happen the first go around. Failures are a part of life and accepting them is what helps you grow. When you learn to accept them, you’ll be able to look at them for what they were and then figure out how you will tackle them again but this time successfully. I know sometimes we fail at the same thing multiple times but not everything is successful on the first try or even the second try. Don’t give up on something that you truly believe in.

When we fail, we often are told maybe it’s not meant but what if it is? When I got the position I have with the company I work for, I applied for it previously and didn’t get it. I was highly qualified over the person who received it, but I didn’t get it. It took me some time to realize that in life things happen when it’s time for it to happen. What I mean by time is that everything has a purpose and meaning and when the time is aligned with your inner growth then the things you want will come to life. You must believe in what you want, and you also must be mature enough to handle the things you want in your life. At that time, I was working on myself and I wasn’t at the level of growth that I am now mentally. Things you want in life comes with responsibility and if you are not ready to receive it then it won’t come to pass.

A lot of people have fear and self-doubt and these are things that hold us back from fulfill our dreams and life purpose. Stop allowing your past and the things you been conditioned to believe cause you to fear accomplishing your dreams. When we believe that maybe it wasn’t meant or prepare yourself for the worst this is allowing doubt to creep into your mind which causes fear. You should never prepare yourself for the worst you should always be optimistic and take life day by day. Also, in life everything you want is meant to come to pass you just must believe it. It might not happen today or tomorrow, but it will come.

It’s okay to be nervous and afraid but don’t let fear stop you from making progress. Consistently working toward your purpose or dream through fear is what’s going to drive you to success. Whatever success looks like for you will happen when you start believing in yourself. When you believe in yourself anything is possible. Fear is there but it no longer holds you back it pulls you forward. You’ll be so afraid of not accomplishing your goals and dreams that you’ll take the steps accordingly without even second guessing.

The people you surround yourself is also important when you’re trying to make changes in your life. I’m not saying get rid of old friends I’m saying spend more time with those who believe in your dreams. Those who cheer you on through their words and actions. I always tell people if you learn to listen and observe then you will realize who is truly there for you. When I talk to people, I listen to them and I learn who they are just by what they say and do, and I have learned to separate myself from negative energy because though I love them, I had to start loving them from a distance. Life gets tough and you can’t allow others constantly around you who will drain your energy. You need uplifting, kind, compassionate, and graceful people around you. These are the type of people that will keep you grounded, motivated, and moving forward.

Yes, your goals and dreams are for you and it’s okay if someone doesn’t buy your product or service, they can still support you by being there cheering you on. Remember our dreams are our dreams. I learn that the things I’m interested in doing not everyone else is but just supporting me by being there is more than enough.

So, as you go about your day remember that if you fall don’t forget to get back up. Never stop believing in yourself. Whatever you want out of life you will receive. It takes more than one try to get what you want out of life but through hard work you will receive your dreams.

“Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is courage to continue that counts.”

-Winston Churchill
